A Piece of Grief

God is Sovereign. I believe this. However, to actually fall headlong and apprehend this truth in the midst of death, loss, grief, fears, and disappointment is awsome (i.e. dreadful).  To walk “through the valley of the  shadow of death” calls for trusting God's Sovereignty "to the death" which turns out to be life giving. “Let me find Your grace in the valley
Let me find Your life in my death
Let me find Your joy in my sorrow
Your wealth in my need
That You’re near with every breath
In the valley” (By Bob Kauflin) Solemn and bone-wearying grief call me to deeper trust... and a temptation to despair.  “Oh for grace to trust Him more!” The rigors of grief are redefining me and I pray that the “fires of grief” are also refining me. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undef…

How Deep the Father's Love for Us

All Things For Good All Things for God

“God is never doing just one thing in what he does with us. He is always doing thousands of things that we cannot see. He never has only one purpose in what he does. He always has thousands of purposes, in everything he does. He is infinitely wise, and everything he does relates to everything else that he does sooner or later. For those who love him and are called according to his purpose, all of them—all of them!—work together for good.”
- John Piper, You Will Never Be Thirsty Again

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,
for those who are called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:28

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the so…

Intersection

The sign was at a country intersection and I was compelled to snap a photo. I so want to read the sign as "THIRD and JAGUAR" but that can't be, can it!

Along the Road: Kansas Wind and Energy

These photos were snapped along the road. To capture the wind for energy is amazing. It has also stirred up some gusty conversation and controversy!

Gimme an "M"!

Chloe in a "pout" and Granddad  I am so pleased that Chloe does a lot more smiling than pouting these days! She is truly a pleasant child.

Ellie is showing me that she knows how to hold scissors correctly!

Curious George was a well-behaved guest! Sean is cutting out an "E" for "Eleanor" He also made: G, M and C.  First name initials were taped onto the owner...

"G" for Grandad

"S" for Sean Eleanor's "E" lost a few horizontal lines. Now there is an "L" for, well, for L" eanor! See Chlo-bear movin' her step-stool in so she can be part of the picture!

"C" for Chloe!

Sean got the fun idea of making a paper track (paper trail?) through the house which was a fine use of my stack of scratch paper. Really!

Super Grandcuties

We loved being met by three grandcuties when we pulled into the driveway! After we parked and before we got out of the car, they ran to greet us at the window! Chloe is holding a Superchick Barbie. Ellie is holding her little "Bah-Bah" Blankie.

Sean was showing and telling about his box of plastic superheroes he received as a gift!

This Sculpture is on the grounds of Bethany College... It looks rather like a "Super Hero" to me, so I snapped it for Sean! I also began thinking of so many "Real-Men Superheroes" of the Bible! I pray that both grandsons will learn of and desire to emulate real and true Biblical Superheroes and the five granddaughters would learn of and desire to be like lovely ladies of Scripture! I pray for their little lives and hearts.
(Liv- Next time I hope to get some snaps of Lilyana too!)
