Awake My Soul!

Sigh No More (Mumford and Sons)

Serve God love me and mend
This is not the end
Live unbruised we are friends
And I'm sorry
I'm sorry
Sigh no more, no more
One foot in sea one on shore
My heart was never pure
You know me
You know me

And man is a giddy thing
Oh man is a giddy thing

Oh man is a giddy thing
Oh man is a giddy thing

Love that will not betray you,
dismay or enslave you,
It will set you free
Be more like the man
you were made to be.
There is a design,
An alignment to cry,
Of my heart to see,
The beauty of love
as it was made to be (x3)

Surprising Grace

"A Mini Symphony" says the Raggedy Man.

It's weird about God's grace. Often His grace descends in a gusty surprise as it did through the music above!
When I try to pin it down or wrap it up and stick a bow on top, I'm reminded again how vast and full and alive is His grace. Never stagnant. Fullness more than I can contain or contend with… but He serves up more and more than I deserve and what is my response? "Oh for grace to love Him more!"

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though…

Retrospection Plus a Healthy Dose of Looking Forward!

Grand Blessings were all together in 2010 thanks to The Surprise Visit!

These may not be "picture perfect", but they make me smile!

And one on the way:

Tabitha with a sweet baby boy due in April 2012!

"Christ our God to earth descendeth, Our full homage to demand."

Let all mortal flesh keep silence, And with fear and trembling stand; Ponder nothing earthly minded, For with blessing in His hand, Christ our God to earth descendeth, Our full homage to demand. King of kings, yet born of Mary, As of old on earth He stood, Lord of lords, in human vesture, In the body and the blood; He will give to all the faithful His own self for heavenly food. Rank on rank the host of heaven Spreads its vanguard on the way, As the Light of light descendeth From the realms of endless day, That the powers of hell may vanish As the darkness clears away. At His feet the six wingèd seraph, Cherubim with sleepless eye, Veil their faces to the presence, As with ceaseless voice they cry: Alleluia, Alleluia Alleluia, Lord Most High! Music: Picardy, French carol melody; harmony from The English Hymnal, 1906, number 318 Words: Liturgy of St. James, 4th Century (Σιγησάτο παρα σὰρξ βροτεία); translated from Greek to English by Gerard Moultrie, 1864.

Walking Stupor

For months I walk around in a stupor
Might as well call it a stupor
Numb, dumb, weary and worse Static between stations  Twenty clocks ticking off Surround sound syncopation  Agitato Prestissimo Rythym of the passing of time Set in motion and Waiting the Stuporless Day

On another note,
I get stuck on songs or songs get stuck on me.
Enough to keep going.
I can't seem to get enough of these gorgeous lyrics and Anthony Way's way:

I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto Me and rest;
Lay down, thou weary one, lay down Thy head upon My breast.”
I came to Jesus as I was, weary and worn and sad;
I found in Him a resting place, and He has made me glad.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one, stoop down, and drink, and live.”
I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, “I am this dark world’s Light;
Look unto Me, thy morn shall rise, and all thy d…
