"not worthy to be compared"

Since His Sovereignty has been on my mind recently, I think these next few posts will (if God wills) have God's sovereignty as the theme plus some "random" tangents on the side. Sovereignty in Salvation "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12,13 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:9,10 "He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will." Ephesians 1:5 "For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake." Philippians 1:29 Ugh. Suffering. ~Suffering tangent~ No, I cannot just glide over "but also to suffer for His sake", though I know our suffering is dull in comparison to Christ's or to the glory we await." For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin; Hebrews 12:3,4 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. Romans 8:16 God is sovereign in our salvation, and though He sovereignly decrees suffering it was His Son who suffered death and seperation from God the Father in our place. Good News!!!.. "Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us." Romans 8:34b
