Driving at Night With The Moon on the Snow
has been a delight to my senses! Mike and I have been taking night time drives as the lighting on the snow beckons us to venture out. The moon has been full and bright and as it casts light on God's creation, it's almost surreal and most certainly luminously lovely. I thought of taking some photos, but decided I'd be too frustrated trying to adjust the camera settings for night and "miss" the enchantment, so here are two art pieces that capture the idea very nicely!
Sometimes the night was beautiful Sometimes the sky was so far away
Sometimes it seemed to stoop so close You could touch it
but your heart would break
R. Mullins
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
C. Moore
The earth is the LORD'S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it.
Psalm 24:1
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Psalm 8:3,4
