Here's the Thing: Being "Ready For The Storm"
Here's a song I like a lot written and performed by Dougie Maclean. It's an encouraging song, but may seem self-righteous on first hearing except for the fact that our readiness for any storm can only be met in the light of God through Christ, our "Lighthouse" as it were. Personally we are experiencing a storm with what seems like threatening lightening all around, but we're safe in Christ:
"For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body." 2 Cor. 4:6-10

But I've gained an appreciation for Dougie since he is the author and enjoy his lovely accent!

I don't think it sounds self-righteous, certainly not coming from you. My impression is that you are able to say "I am ready for the storm" because you have confidence in the One who sometimes causes the storms, sometimes leads you through them, and sometimes steers them away. For now , while you're in a storm, know that I'm praying for you.
Thank you, thank you for those affirming words. You pretty much nailed my sentiments about the storms. The truth is I sometimes feel frightened even though I know I don't need to be. Thank you for praying.
