Mosaic #3 "Sunken Snapshot" and Eleanor's 2nd Birthday!
Today Mike put up the mosaic that he finished grouting on Tuesday. Mike designed these mosaics and did most of the work. Tab, Christine and I had some fun by helping “glue on” pieces much like a puzzle of our own interpretation and I had the fun of picking up various colorful items to bust into smaller pieces and odd objects (like the toilet, whale etc.) at thrift shops or garage sales, but truly Mike is the artist and though he didn’t sign his name, he should have! HERE are the two in the front entry and this “Sunken Snapshot” is in the back covered patio.
Eleanor turned two. Her party was cancelled last week because of snow, so we had it at our house today! It was fun! I regret not getting a group photo! There were 13 partiers! Here is Olivia, Chris, Eleanor and Sean (Baby Chloe was being held by Great Grandad Dale) The cute froggy Cake was made by Daddy Chris!

Sweet pictur of Eleanor.
Also impressed by God's artistry when he created your darling beebee Eleanor! And kudoes to the cake maker. Cute!
The concept part, by Mike, took “artistic energy” and the busting up took “loud and fun energy” so this didn’t take as long as gluing each piece. The gluing too some thought , but it was good “fellowship energy”! Most of the time it helped to not think too hard about the exact perfect piece. Our motto was “Just glue it.” The first two in the entryway took most of an Autumn season. Tab was here to help and we worked on lovely afternoons in the backyard. The sea themed one took the longest. It took garage space and was ignored the next Summer, Fall and Winter! I guess we lost our momentum… and Tab wasn’t here to help make it more fun!
Come on over!
